EMATT’s primary goal is to substantially reduce disaster losses in Trinidad and Tobago by building the resilience of communities. Our biggest asset is our combined experience in the development of regional and national responses and preparation and providing the right guidance and support enabling us to become influential leaders of positive change. We have the energy, creativity and will to do things differently….we will be identified by our CONSISTENT, PERSISTENT and ACCURATE approach in fulfilling our mandate. We do, disaster mitigation, disaster response planning and consulting and disaster risk reduction awareness.

The purpose of the CAG is to ensure that PACC 2030 is implemented in a way that incorporates local wisdom, particularly intergenerational ecological knowledge and practices to bridge technocratic knowledge with

community needs.

About CAG

The Emergency Management Association of Trinidad and Tobago (EMATT) is excited to announce a groundbreaking partnership with the Energy Transition and Climate Program at the Inter-American Dialogue, a prestigious Western Hemisphere affairs think tank based in Washington, DC.

 

The collaboration aims to advance climate justice and sustainability efforts in the Caribbean. The first meeting is taking place in POS, highlighting the importance of Trinidad and Tobago in the initiative. It is set to take place on September 28, 2023, bringing together an array of distinguished civil society leaders, including Stacey-Ann Pi Osoria, EMATT's Founder and Vice President.

 

The Citizen Advisory Group (CAG), composed of 15 diverse civil society leaders from the Caribbean, will play a pivotal role in advising the implementation of the US-Caribbean Partnership to Address the Climate Crisis 2030 (PACC 2030). PACC 2030, a flagship initiative of the Biden-Harris Administration, which seeks to promote climate adaptation, resilience, and clean energy solutions throughout the Caribbean region.
